Storage Cranham Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Storage Cranham has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking from taking place within our business operations and supply chains. Storage Cranham is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard people from exploitation.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Storage Cranham has a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, and exploitative working practices. We will not knowingly conduct business with any organisation, supplier, contractor, or business partner that is involved in, or fails to take active steps to prevent, modern slavery in its operations.
All employees, from senior management to front-line colleagues, are expected to uphold this commitment. Any breach of this policy by our employees may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Any breach by a supplier or contractor may lead to suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Cranham operates storage and related services and relies on a range of suppliers, including facilities management, security, cleaning, maintenance, equipment, and professional services. We recognise that risks of modern slavery can exist at multiple tiers of the supply chain, particularly where work is low paid, sub-contracted, or carried out by temporary or migrant labour.
We are committed to identifying and assessing these risks and to working only with suppliers that share our values and demonstrate robust labour and human rights practices.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We conduct due diligence on key suppliers and contractors before they are approved. This may include requesting information on their policies, workforce practices, and approach to preventing modern slavery. We expect suppliers to comply with all applicable labour, human rights, and health and safety laws in the countries where they operate.
Where we identify higher-risk areas, we may carry out more detailed checks, seek additional assurances, and require corrective actions. We may also conduct periodic audits of selected suppliers to verify that they comply with our standards, including interviews with management, review of relevant documentation, and, where appropriate, site visits.
If non-compliance or serious concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier on an improvement plan within a reasonable timeframe. If satisfactory progress is not made, we reserve the right to review, suspend, or terminate the relationship.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities
Responsibility for our modern slavery efforts sits with senior management, who oversee policy implementation, risk assessment, and response to any concerns raised. Managers involved in procurement or supplier management are expected to consider modern slavery risks in all sourcing and contracting decisions.
We aim to raise awareness among employees about the signs of modern slavery and the importance of speaking up. Training and guidance are provided to relevant staff so they understand how to identify potential issues and report concerns appropriately.
Reporting Channels and Speaking Up
Storage Cranham encourages employees, workers in our supply chain, and any third parties to report concerns about modern slavery or unethical conduct. Concerns can be raised directly with line managers, senior management, or through any internal reporting channels communicated to staff and suppliers.
All reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated as appropriate. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith. Where necessary, we will work with external experts or authorities to address reported issues and protect those who may be at risk.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Storage Cranham is committed to continuous improvement in our approach to preventing modern slavery. We will regularly review our policies, procedures, and supplier controls to ensure they remain effective, proportionate, and responsive to evolving risks in our sector and supply chains.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by senior management. The review will consider any incidents reported, the outcomes of supplier audits, changes in legislation or best practice, and feedback from stakeholders. Updated versions of this statement will reflect any enhancements we make to our processes and controls.
This statement has been approved by the management of Storage Cranham and represents our ongoing commitment to conducting business responsibly and upholding the fundamental rights and dignity of all people involved in our operations and supply chains.
